Now that we are at the end of another school year, it is time to think about our summer band program. This year, we will have our summer band sessions starting on Monday, July 28th in the Palos South Band Room.
 We will use the same split format as last year: a one hour group sectional (once a week), followed by a one hour full band rehearsal (M-W-F). This year, there will also be two jazz sessions for interested 6th, 7th & 8th grade band members. The ensembles will be grouped by playing level and experience. The 2-hour jazz sessions will consist of 60 minutes of improvisational techniques and 60 minutes of Jazz ensemble rehearsal for each group. Enrollment is limited to jazz band instruments (trumpet, sax, trombone, percussion, guitar, & piano) although exceptions will be considered (flute, clarinet, baritone…)
All sessions will be held in the Palos South Band Room.

 Summer Band affords band members the opportunity to get back in the swing of things by covering all of the fundamentals and ensemble skills needed for a productive school year. In the 2003 school year, our bands will be competing in various contests culminating with the IGSMA State Band Festival in the spring. Student participation in the summer band program will help us towards our goal of a Division I rating in this competition.

 The total cost of the complete Concert Band summer session is $50.00 per student; the Jazz Ensemble* summer session is $40.00 per student.
