Background - Cowpox had been made famous by scientist Edward Jenner and his studies with Smallpox and Cow Pox. Jenner's theory was that people who had Cowpox could not get Smallpox. Jenner tested his ideas in which he found that there were two strains of Smallpox one caused people to be immune to the Smallpox virus and one didn't. While he showed impressive results he never was recognized until he tested a boy who had the Cowpox virus and gave him Smallpox. The boy didn't get sick. After this Jenner was recognized around the world for his studies.

Symptoms - If the disease is transmitted to humans rashes with puss filled blisters will appear. A small bump will develop in the place of the rash. It is followed by a sick felling and a fever that can last several days. Rubbicund patches, and itchy warm skin are other symptoms that depict cowpox. If the disease is transmitted to cows growths on the udders or teats will appear. Cattle may become tired and weak also.

Treatment - There is no real cure for Cowpox once you have got it. Though it can be prevented by a vaccine.
