Salmonellosis

Salmonellosis,
commonly known as salmonella, was first found by an american veterinarian
named Daniel Elmer Salmon. He isolated the infection in 1885.
His knowledge of the disease has helped the scientists today try to stop
the spread of salmonella.
This

Symptoms

nausea

vomiting

diarrhea

slight fever

weakness

headache

stomach
pain

dehydration

symptoms
appear within 1 to 3 days after exposure
Transmission

bad food
preparation

on or in food or drink or on fingers and other objects

under 1 year of age can be prescribed antibiotics

need intravenous fluid to prevent dehydration

elderly and those with pre-existing medical problems should be evaluated
by a doctor

get infected by salmonellae bacteria, these bacteria are a frequent cause
of food poisoning
