DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
* The students are divided into pairs. Each pair will be assigned a particular city in Mexico and will research different aspects of the city using Internet links provided.
* The students will then create a "travel brochure" for the city using all of the information acquired.
* The students will present their travel brochure information to the class. They will explain why or why not the city would be a nice place to visit.
CURRICULUM CONNECTION:
This project incorporates Illinois Learning Standards for Foreign Language:
State Goal 28: Use the target language to communicate within and beyond the classroom setting.
State Goal 29: Use the target language to develop an understanding of the customs, arts, literature, history and geography associated with the target language.
State Goal 30: Use the target language to make connections and reinforce knowledge and skills across academic, vocational and technical disciplines.
This project also coordinates with the District 118 Foreign Language Curriculum, specifically with the concept-based unit of geography.
AUDIENCE: Middle School Students
LENGTH OF ACTIVITY: The students will have one week to research, assemble and present their project to the class.
